Profiled Tube Assembly

Our customer required a housing for a small printed circuit board together with its associated connector. The assembly needed to be RFI-shielded. A rectangular cross-section brass tube was drawn incorporating channels either side of the inside wall, allowing hte pcb to be housed inside. Brass shim, stamped, and a similar brass rectangular tube comprised the remainder of the assembly.

The three components were tack welded by laser prior to soldering along the joints, providing a sturdy, shielding assembly. The complete item was pated with a zinc-based alloy, preventing corrosion of the brass in its final, all-weather application.
