Inconel seal

An Inconel precision machined part used in conjunction with two ceramic ground cones, is used to create a high pressure seal. Wear life is increased by the use of the Inconel and ceramic combination, which also give sufficient strength to the liquid seal. The diagram below shows the cross-section through the Inconel disc, with a central hole and side-hole. The two ceramic cones are shown top and bottom. As these are pressed into the central hole in the Inconel part, a high-pressure seal is made between the ceramic cones and the chamfers at the top and bottom of the hole.
