Diesel emission sensors
A high temperature diesel emission sensor, used at above 1000 degrees Centigrade, uses Inconel tube which is laser welded to an Inconel machined part. Stainless steel would have been unsuitable for this application, due to the high temperatures involved. The Inconel tube shields electrical leads into the sensor, and an Inconel cap is laser welded on to complete the assembly
